In this video, we are going to install Audacity on Linux Ubuntu OS. As we mentioned before, Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and other operating systems.
There are generally two ways to install Audacity on your Ubuntu, and The latest version of GNU/Linux is recommended that is compatible with your hardware specifications.
In this lecture, we are going to install with the visual Ubuntu software, and in the following video, updating Audacity, we are going to use the terminal and commands.
Audacity will run best with at least 1 GB RAM and a 2 GHz of processor.
Because Linux was originally written when computers were less powerful, you may be able to run it on much less powerful such as Chrome-books or Raspberry Pi as well.
